Get a taste of travel by camping out- backpacking style- in Mark Twain National Forest. Known for it's beautiful rivers, springs, and caves- this corner of the Midwest has much to offer. Girls will spend one night tent camping at Camp Widjiwagan and one night tent camping in the Missouri backcountry. During our weekend we'll practice basic backpacking skills, learn about the critters and plants we encounter, cook outside, and more! Beginner friendly, but not for those who have never slept outside before or have never completed an overnight program. **A pre-trip meeting is required for all participants and one guardian. Meeting date TBD via Zoom.
Pickup available in Peoria or Bloomington as needed. Cadettes will earn their Primitive Camping Badge.
